In 1990 a patent was registered the Elliptical Plunge Action (EPA) and the 345MD medium duty Aerator machine was introduced. This mechanism moves the tines proportionally horizontal in conjunction with the vertical plunge minimising surface disruption. The HD Heavy Duty aeration mechanism was developed in 1996 and the 345HD and 460HD machines were introduced. Numerous quick change tine accessories were developed for the Groundsman range of aerators using the Vee Spigot quick-change mounting.
Turf Aerator 345MD
DF The 345 range have earned the reputation over the past twenty years for rugged durability and low maintenance. There are two models in the GROUNDSMAN 345 range, 345MD (medium duty) and 345HD (heavy duty) The 345MD is recommended for use on structured fine turf and is the most popular choice for maintaining private Bowling Greens.

Turf Aerator 345HD
The 345HD uses the same heavy duty aeration mechanism as the Groundsman tractor mounting aerators enabling it to work on all surfaces and conditions from sports turf to estates and gardens where stones and even old foundations can be encountered. This versatile machine accepts the full range of Groundsman tine and holders (see TINES & HOLDERS) and with an overall width of 80cm (32") it can access pedestrian gateways/ doorways etc

Turf Aerator 460HD
The GROUNDSMAN 460HD is a wider version of the 345HD, it has four heavy duty crank-arms in the aeration mechanism giving an operating width of 60 cm (24"). This rugged machine is simple to operate and very stable on the ground giving 30% higher output than the 345HD for larger areas or for the maintenance of multiple facilities such a with councils or contractors. The 460HD accepts the full range of SC (spigot clamp) tine and holders (see TINES & HOLDERS)
